A label is a piece of paper, cloth, polymer or metal adhered to an item. At label is usually printed a legend, addresses, information about product, etc. Labels have different uses: product identification, advertising, name tags, warnings, and other communication.
Inventory labels are the most common. Special international and pictorial labels give different warnings about the product. For example, “fragile” labels are adhered to fragile items. Shipping labels are only required for importation, not domestic movement. Shipping labels are ideal for mailing envelopes and packages and many more uses, such as storage boxes and name badges.
As for colors, the Pantone system is dominant in the label printing industry. However, some companies use their own colors.
Pressure sensitive labels are the most popular and handy type of labels. Other types of labels are rarely used because they are mostly awkward.
